DISCOVERING LONDON TOURS

Some of my favourite and most popular London walks.

Between 2010 - 2020 I was an award winning City of Westminster Guide and a member of the City of Westminster Guide Lecturers Association. I became well-known for running unusual walking tours of London for small groups of visitors and locals interested in London's lesser known stories.

UNUSUAL WALKING TOURS OF LONDON

THE SEVEN NOSES OF SOHO

I discovered the Noses in 2011 and helped hundreds of people to find them on this tour. Legend has it that if you see all the Seven Noses of Soho you will attain infinite wealth.

GRINLING GIBBONS IN LONDON

A day out in London devoted to the "Michelangelo of Wood" the incredible Grinling Gibbons 1648-1721.

WINSTON CHURCHILL IN LONDON

An interactive walking tour devoted to Winston Churchill in central London, visiting places and haunts associated with WSC throughout his life and looking at some rare memorabilia.

CHRISTMAS DAY IN LONDON

Magical, special, unique – a truly unusual way to spend Christmas Day in London. If you have never seen London almost empty, this is really the only opportunity to do so all year. A really memorable tour for locals and visitors.

EVERY STREET IN SOHO

A truly unique near 10 mile walk discovering all of Soho's 119+ streets, mews, courts and other thoroughfares. At the end of this walk you'll be able to say that you really have "done" Soho.

A BAG OF GOLD IN BLOOMSBURY

An unusual tour of Bloomsbury including stops in four wonderful pubs, this tour will completely ignore the area's literary connections with absolutely no mention of anyone "living in squares and loving in triangles".

ODDITIES OF STRAND

As you walk along a former beach you will discover, London’s and possibly the world’s first wine bar, the scene of an elephant’s execution and the oldest family-run shop of its type on earth.

SECRETS OF DORSET SQUARE

Dorset Square and the surrounding streets are on the face of it a typical Georgian development. But packed into this tiny area are some great stories and some fascinating associations

HIDDEN MAYFAIR

Ritz, glitz, glamour, the word Mayfair evokes a James Bond spirit – high-living, high-rolling, fast cars, faster women, quality cocktails, luxury hotels, discretion, secrecy and espionage. Mayfair is also known for its numerous American links forged both in leisure and in War.

HERTFORD'S PUBS AND HISTORY

Hertford is a stunningly beautiful and historic County town with lots of links to London, hundreds of listed buildings, four rivers, some fantastic pubs and it is just 50 minutes by train from Moorgate or Liverpool Street.
