Last week’s Weekend Elephant was to be found in the window display of Jungle Bells, a new “pop-up” shop supporting the conservation work of Elephant Family.

Along with colourful elephants available to purchase there are tigers, crocodiles, hornbills and orangutans. There are small sculptures and some fine larger pieces, so something for every budget .
All proceeds from the shop go to protecting endangered wildlife in Asia. Elephant Family, the conservation charity hosting the shop fund 12 projects across Asia. The are the same good people who brought us the Elephant Parade.
The shop will be open at 69, Broadwick Street, Soho until New Year’s Eve
Monday to Saturday: 10am – 7pm
Sunday: 11am – 6pm
And the winner is … The first person to correctly locate these elephants was that mysterious senior civil servant and friend of this blog who goes only by the name of “Tony”. Well, congratulations Tony! It was his early Saturday morning entry that pipped everybody else to the post.
The next Weekend Elephant, the twenty-second, will be published this Friday.
You will have the whole weekend to email the answer to elephants@peterberthoud.co.uk . The first person to identify it will be rewarded with a glorious mention sometime on Monday when the location will be officially revealed
If you would like to nominate an elephant for future inclusion please drop me a line; all publicly visible, permanent or semi-permanent, London-based elephants, regardless of size, medium or location will be considered!
